dRinking water from melted glaciers
Drinking Water from Melted Glaciers, 2022
For me, self-portraiture serves as documentation of ongoing conversations I have with myself. The camera becomes the mediator, a tangible buffer between the physical body and the subconscious. Desire and need to explore the ever-changing nature of the psyche emerges in stillness and solitude.
This series allowed me to reflect on two opposing conversation. What often creates a tension between criticism and compassion. This conversation becomes a moment of curiosity and acceptance towards the co-existing and interdependent aspects of a juxtaposed persona.
I utilize self-portraiture as an invitation to sit in both light and darkness; to see a still frame as a mirror of shared vulnerability.
